Meisner's acting method moves the actor's focus from the self to reading and reacting to the stage partner. The method creates a fluent and dynamic interaction that allows new life to be created in every stage situation, even in long rehearsed pieces.

Hem Kurser Acting: Meisner and stage Communication

About the course

This course explores the Meisner method and also provides some basic inner work exercises to build on. A big portion of the course is held in master class format, which means observing other participants as they work.

Previous Experience

Some previous experience in acting is useful but not required.

What you need

Bring comfortable clothing, a water bottle and a snack for the break to keep your energy up.

For the last workshop you will also be asked to learn a piece of dialogue.

About the leader

Frej is a licensed theatre teacher with experience of teaching courses for various age groups. He has studied and practised acting and creative techniques such as Meisner, devicing, pedagogical drama, clown and Comedia del Arte.

Accessibility

This course will be held in english.

The entire ABF building is accessible. We have a defibrillator on the ground floor. Earplugs and neck loops (T-loops) are available if needed. We have accessible toilets on all floors. All toilets are gender neutral. Your guide dog is welcome with us. Since we work with asthma and allergy associations, no other animals are allowed on our premises. Please avoid strong odors.
