Snowmobile drivers license

Please note, you must have a rigistered coordination number (or Swedish personal identity number) to register. We can not accept registrations without this.

If there are fewer than 8 students per course, we will cancel or move the course forward.

To register for the snowmobile training, here are some important points to keep in mind:

Payment:

The theory part is paid directly at the time of booking, 1500 SEK.

TOTAL PRICE: 3600 SEK. The remaining 2100 SEK is paid before the course starts! When you book, you must provide a Swedish mobile number and you must also have provided a Swedish address to the Swedish Tax Agency. This is the Swedish address you fill in on this application. The theory part takes place physically on site at ABF's premises on Garvaregatan 10 in Arvidsjaur. IF there is enough snow, the practical part will be on Sunday the day after the theory part, otherwise the practical part will take place when there is enough snow. You bring snowmobiles, clothes, helmets with you to the practical part or rent them from the teacher. Theory material is included in the price. In the event of cancellation, these 1500 SEK are not refundable!

The theory part:

Takes place physically on site at ABF's premises on Garvaregatan 10.

The course runs for a full day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Preparations:

At the start of the theory part, you need to show a valid ID document.

To register for the snowmobile training, you must have a Swedish personal identity number or coordination number. This is required when registering to ensure that we have the correct information for your registration and training.

You will be given access to our digital theory material when you register.

To summarize, here is what you need to know about the snowmobile training:

Theory part: Carried out on site in Arvidsjaur.

Practical exercises: Are planned according to the weather conditions, and if there is sufficient snow, the exercises usually take place the day after the theory. You finish with a knowledge test. If you pass, you will receive your driver's license.

Driver's license: You can take the test from the age of 16, but you can start the training when you are 15 years and 9 months.

Equipment rental:

For the practical exercise on day 2, you must have your own snowmobile that is set up, insured and fueled.

As of October 1, 2009, a separate snowmobile driver's license is required to drive a snowmobile. Here are the exceptions that apply:

A snowmobile driver's license issued as of January 1, 2000 continues to give you the right to drive a snowmobile.

A driver's license or tractor license issued before January 1, 2000 also continues to give you the right to drive a snowmobile, even if the driver's license or tractor license has been revoked.

This means that if you have any of these licenses, you do not need to take the separate snowmobile driver's license. If you do not have any of these documents, you will need to undergo training and testing to obtain a snowmobile driver's license.
